Dal Pancake
A savory pancake made from soaked dal and vegetables

Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow dal soaked in water overnight
- 1-2 tbsps fresh cilantro
- 1 cup blanched kale
- 1 tbsps mint
- 1 carrot peeled and grated
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 chili pepper seeded and chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tbsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp powdered garlic
- salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak yellow dal in water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Once this time has passed, drain water from dal and place dal in a food processor. Process unttil smooth but not runny. You may need to add a little water during this process. When finished, add dal to a large bowl and add in all remaining ingredients and mix well. Place mixture into a prepared cast iron pan. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 20 minutes. Carefully remove from the oven and brush with a tablespoon of ghee. Place back into the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven, cut into slices and serve warm with cilantro/kale chutney.This is a delicious and nutritious pancake. Enjoy!
