Faithful Living, Beautiful Life

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

My faith often speaks on right-ordered living. We have many hyphenated words like this. When I was first convinced that this faith is the one I must reliably lean on, I looked at my life to make sure I remained in the Light. In the beginning, during the 17^th Century, those of my spiritual path were first known to be “The Children of the Light.” That Light of Jesus, to steadfastly walk in and into, each day. But as we are aware and have experienced, life can throw us some curveballs. In times of exit, some miss us but can still leave a few repercussions. Then others are gut-wrenching, leaving emotional pain and chaos behind. Even so, in confidence, we pick up and move forward as best we know how.

Right-ordered living asserts that, in general, we should adhere to several daily disciplines, and not laws. Based on the Biblically framed sector, I follow, essential beliefs concerning a right-ordered Christian life is:

“Christianity cleaned and polished down to its very essence, stripped of the theological corrosion and doctrinal encrustations added over the last 1700 years. Like the earliest Christians, we believe that God is accessible to everyone– now, today, here–and that Jesus Christ, the Logos, the Word of God, the Inward Light, is willing to teach us individually how to come to Him and how to live our lives. We believe that because the Holy Spirit is willing to speak to us, personally, that it is our highest duty to listen. It is then our immediate obligation to act in accordance with His will.”

 With this in mind, some uncomplicated daily disciplines are:

• Read the Bible and remain in God’s words.
• To always uphold the discipline of “retirement” as we step back from the busyness of life and be quietly present.
• To be attentive listeners.
• To pray on all things, at all times.
• To discern whenever discovery is needed.
• To consistently consider attitude relating to any person, given task, or to life in general.

Some of you may be wondering why I chose to share this part of whom I am with you. Well, there’s no specific reason. I share this inner part of myself not to proselytize, not to convince, but to ground me as an individual and a child of God. I find that I know of many Christian faiths, as well as many belief systems. I likewise know people who have walked away from God. Those who have chosen their own paths in this life. Yet, as I follow these daily disciplines, as mentioned above, I remain at ease concerning this group. My humble prayer on the latter is, “Lord, as those who moved away from you, know the need to move closer to you, may their faith grow in you, and with you may evidences of their lives become ever so beautiful.” This prayer is all I often have to give concerning those who walked away from God. I must be content in, its enough.

Faithful living leads to a more beautiful life.

Proverbs 3:5-8 tells us to:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing for your flesh and refreshment to your body.” (NRSV)

A beautiful life offers peace. Here I note that these proverbs warn to not be overly confident in our own abilities. To not become self-deluded. We know that those who are wise, likewise are humble (Proverbs 11:2, 15:33, 18:12). The proverbs above also tell us about the vitality we can have when we put our complete trust in the Lord. Bones become moist as we are more eager to know Him (v.8), becoming more flexible in our daily conditions.

Experientially, I do not have all the answers, nor do I try to mold or build them. I retire, pray, and love. I love as much as I am allowed to, even though I see the need for precious and real love in so many, is quite vast. I thread lightly in some cases while deeply desiring to display God’s love more. I return to instances and places of familiarity because I long so much to know more of God’s love, mercy, and grace. I want to identify their motions and qualities to better implement them in times of chaos, misunderstanding, deep hurt, and emotional pain. I want to, so much, in moments of joy too. To listen with my ears and my eyes; to listen, from nothingness residing in an empty mind and heart. To listen from a conscious and attentive soul. To get what God tells me through His words. To discern on every need for discovery. To embrace the things that tweak my attitude, and to learn from them. To turn around perilous occurrences with the application of faith. To live this beautiful life God intended. To live with no expectations, but His sweet, continuous love. To live one day at a time. To live in God’s moments and not mine. To return to beauty again, and again, and again…

My query for you today is:

In times of daily connections, do you feel the need to deeper some of these connections? If so, what are the methods you believe could be implemented, to live out, enhance, and strengthen these connections wholly?

In the verse above, Jesus tells us, it only takes two of us to begin, and He teaches us. When we permit Jesus to direct the inner of all of us, His Holy Spirit steps in without fear, and only in love. Let’s acknowledge Him to be our supporter through faithful living, forward toward, His magnificent life! I hold His Light (Isaiah 42:6, Luke 2:32) within me to better able to expand my prayer life in complete faith and precise understanding. I hold His Light for and with you, as we grow together.
